Drive 1.5 hrs to Nayapul trailhead. Begin trekking through beautiful subtropical forest and terraced farmland along the Bhurungdi Khola. Pass through Birethanti and climb to Tikhedhunga. Trek: 4-5 hrs.
Climb the famous stone staircase (3,300 steps!) to Ulleri. Continue through dense rhododendron, oak, and magnolia forest โ absolutely magical in spring (March-April) when the red and pink rhododendrons are in full bloom. Arrive at Ghorepani village. Trek: 5-6 hrs.
Wake at 4:30 AM for the 45-minute hike to Poon Hill summit. Watch the sun rise over Dhaulagiri (8,167m), Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Machapuchare, Manaslu, and Himalchuli โ one of Nepal's most spectacular views. Return to Ghorepani for breakfast, then trek through beautiful forest to Tadapani. Trek: 5-6 hrs.
Descend through forest to the scenic Gurung village of Ghandruk with views of Annapurna South and Machapuchare. Continue down to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara. Celebrate with a lakeside dinner. Trek: 5-6 hrs.
Optional Pokhara activities: boating on Phewa Lake, visit World Peace Pagoda, try paragliding, or relax lakeside. Fly or drive back to Kathmandu if needed.
